About the lion We decorated our Lion cub with bejewelled handprints to represent our school motto: ‘Together We Have Strength’. We hope that everyone will come to Ascot to search for our special South Ascot Village School Cub and admire its sparkling hand print design. Our sponsorship of Roary was only made possible to our school’s achievement in the Ascot Racecourse Art Competition, when Year 6 pupil Bavi Viknesvaran won the Age 9-10 category with her clever design of champagne drinking racehorses. The school's prize was reinvested into this exciting and creative sculpture trail project.
About the sponsor At South Ascot Village School, we are excited and proud to sponsor one of the Lion Cubs as part of the ‘Lions of Windsor 2019 Trail’.
Where? Roary will be displayed at Ascot Railway station, Ascot, SL5 9EG. Viewing hours 0600-2000. Sun 0800-1800. Sometimes he will be outside sunning himself and other times padding around the Ticket Hall.
