About the lion Winston Wiggle was painted in the beautiful garden of Zandra Rhodes' Fashion and Textile Museum in London. Zandra said: "When our blank lion arrived, we took a look at him and thought we need to make him Zandra Rhodes! So now he's bright pink with swirls of black and gold".

About the artist Dame Zandra Rhodes has been an iconic figurehead of the UK fashion industry for almost five decades. Her notoriety as a print designer combined with an affinity for fine fabrics and colour has resulted in signature aesthetic that is undeniably unique and continues to stand the test of time. Her iconic skill and status has resulted in a multitude of collaborations, most notably with Valentino for their 2017 spring/summer and resort collections. With an archive spanning 50 years and a never ending fascination with printed textile design, Dame Zandra continues to create an array of clothing and designs with her signature style. As she approaches her Jubilee year in 2019, her London based atelier has begun to create new collections inspired by her historical pieces while introducing new prints and shapes. With facilities to screen print her own fabrics; garments are nurtured from conception to completion within the walls of her London studio. Continuing to work both in house and with other brands, Dame Zandra Rhodes shows no sign of relinquishing her role as one of Britain's most significant fashion figures. In celebration of fifty years of the Zandra Rhodes’ label, the Fashion and Textile Museum presents Zandra Rhodes: 50 Years of Fabulous. This retrospective will highlight 100 key looks, as well as 50 original textiles. This comprehensive exhibition will explore five decades of the distinguished career of a British design legend.
