About the lion During their time with us, we give our pupils the ‘Feathers to Fly’ so that when they leave us, they will spread their wings and will take flight; leaving Lambrook as confident, happy, engaging, mature, considerate and thoughtful young adults who are outward looking global citizens.

About the sponsor "Lambrook is a thriving independent Prep School for girls and boys, located in 52 acres of beautiful countryside, in Berkshire. Our most important asset is our children. From 1860 to the present day, we have been nurturing boys and girls from the ages of 3 through to 13, giving them ‘feathers to fly’, ensuring that they enter senior school life as confident, outgoing, intelligent and creative young people. We pride ourselves on our high academic standards, excellent facilities and sporting provision. Our weekly and flexi boarding is fun and friendly, with a real family atmosphere. The school has the Christian faith at the centre of its foundation. Compassion and a fundamental recognition of family values are at the core of life here and we encourage all pupils to be outward looking, using their gifts for the benefit of others. Lambrook School endeavours to lay the foundations for the pupils’ future success and prepare them for the senior school and life beyond. Children have one opportunity for the education that will form the basis of their lives, and at the same time one childhood – the aim is to keep a happy balance between the two."

About the artist We created a design to go with the school motto of “giving children the feathers to fly”. Each child in year three enjoyed designing a feather to paint onto the lion cub.
